At Dancing Like the Stars, our emphasis is on learning to dance and having fun. Dance Like The Stars is a comprehensive course to learn dances including tango, salsa, swing, merengue, cha-cha and more. No partners are required, as students dance with the teachers, assistants and each other. Classes meet at Dance Like the Stars studio, off Frankfort Avenue in Crescent Hill. Classes for all levels of experience welcome. Ages 3 - 13. $129 per session. See below for times.

Saturday "Dance Like the Stars" Schedule:

Ages 3 - 6: 10.30am - 11.20am

Ages 7-10: 11.30am - 12.20pm

Ages 11-14: 9.30am - 10.20am

Winter Session classes are Saturdays.
Note: Studio "Dance Like the Stars" classes are taught on Saturdays only. Private group classes and small group & individual private lessons by appointment only.

  • Classes meet @ the Dance Studio, 115 S. Ewing.
  • Ages 3 - 14
  • 50 minute classes.
  • No partner required.  Students dance with the teachers, helpers and each other.
  • All levels of experience welcome.
  • Please use online Online Pre-Registration Call for questions!
  • Session is $129 for 9 weeks.
  • Need to miss a week? That's ok, assistants will help you catch up the next week.
  • Payment due by the 1st day of class. Cash (exact change) or check is preferred. Online payment through PayPal also available (no login required).
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Most shoe types can easily work.
  • Some flexiblity with age and grade level is possible to accomodate siblings and student scheduling needs. (Please call in advance if wanting to register in a different age/grade level.)
  • Minimum class size is 6 students.
  • Some late registrations are accepted (call or write for questions)
  • Recital/demonstration fee is included.
  • At the end of the session, there will be a very casual student celebratory demonstration for friends and family.
  • winter session, $129, 9 weeks, beginning 1/28 - 3/31/12.
  • Instuctors are there to instruct kids on last week's steps. Just arrive 15 minutes early.   
  • Want to dance but classes do not fit your schedule? Private lessons and private classes for small groups of kids or adults are available.
  • Parents want to learn, too? Join us for Private lessons OR get your own group together for a small group lesson.

About the "Star" instructors!


AngelaB Studio owner & Instructor: Angela Bartley

Angela Bartley, has worked throughout the Commonwealth with hundreds of children as an Artist in Residence in Kentucky Schools for the Kentucky Arts Council. She has Kentucky state adjudicated educational content and dance perfomance skills.
All Arts Council instructors have undergone background checks with Kentucky State Police.

emily Emily Kidwell: Instructor

Experienced for 14 years in many styles of dance including, ballet (Louisville Ballet), jazz, tap, modern, and now, social and ballroom dancing. She loves to teach your kids about the love of dance! Come join her classes today and learn about the exciting experiences and fun dance has to offer!


Dance for kids Tiffany Ackerman: Studio manager & Instructor

Tiffany Ackerman has a passion for dance and the performing arts that has been passed down from her parents.  Exploring different forms of dance since childhood, her favorites include ballet, latin, and swing.  Tiffany has danced with Terspichore Dance Company and holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Louisville.   She is a member of the Louisville art community and an invaluable asset to the Flame Run Art Gallery management team. When she is not dancing, or working in the art gallery she enjoys many forms of crafting and teaching her cats to dance. Tiffany was born in Gainesville, Florida and relocated to Louisville in 1995.
